This week, Pastor Meg shared a powerful message from Romans 8:22-23:

“We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.” She reminded us that while we wait for the fullness of God’s redemption, we often experience pain and suffering.

She addressed three common myths about suffering and shared the truths that counter them.

First, the myth that good actions can spare us from hardship was dispelled by the truth that suffering is not always a result of personal failure. Second, she tackled the misconception that our pain is irrelevant because “God will make all things good,” reminding us that the Holy Spirit’s intercession reveals God’s deep care for us in our suffering. Lastly, she addressed the myth of finding a “silver lining” in every hardship, affirming instead that goodness comes not from suffering itself but from God’s transformative power.
